Attention:

The term “Marathon” is defined as being 42.195km long.


Race Date & Time:

The 42.195 km run will be held on October 6th 2019, Sunday at 09:30 a.m.


Time Limit:

Marathon Runners have a time limit of 5 hours to complete the race. The racetrack will be opened to traffic once the allocated 5 hours is over. Remaining participants are free to continue the course on the sidewalk.

Attention: The racetrack will be opened to traffic gradually; participants that do not finish in the allocated time for the distance they registered will not be classified and will not receive a certificate or medal.


Schedule for Traffic Release:

The Marathon course will be closed to traffic between 00.00 a.m. to 03.00 p.m.

Start, Checkpoints, & the Finish Line:
START Line is Eceabat – Kabatepe 6.km of road – Kabatepe Simulation Center- Anzac Ceremony Field - New Zealand 2nd Outpost Cemetery - Emberkation Pier Cemetery - TURN POINT – Embarkation Pier Cemetery – New Zealand 2nd Outpost Cemetery – Anzac Ceremony Field – Anzac Cove –– Kabatepe Port – Kum Hotel – Alcitepe – Twelve Tree Copse Cemetery – Pink Farm Cemetery – Ikiz Cove – Lancashire Landing Cemetery – Tekke Cove – Helles Memorial – Seddulbahir – French Memorial - Morto Cove – Turkish Memorial

Transportation will be provided from the city center to the start line before the race, and back to the city center from the finish line.

Route Introduction:
The Marathon route is designed for runners to fully visit the 3 regions from the Gallipoli Landing (Helles, ANZAC, and Suvla). The course begins The start line will be at the, Eceabat – Kabatepe 6.km of road, Kabatepe Simulation Center and the ANZAC ceremony field. After passed New Zealand 2nd Outpost cemetery, Embarkation Pier,TURN POINT , Embarkation Pier, passed New Zealand 2nd Outpost cemetery and then to the ANZAC ceremony field. After the Ariburnu cemetery, runners will pass Ataturk’s inscription of the famous letter he wrote to the mothers of the ANZAC, thereafter arriving to ANZAC Cove. The next stop will be the Kabatepe Beach, where the allied were supposed to land, then to Kabatepe Port. After passing Kum Hotel runners will arrive at Alcitepe, going through Twelve Tree Copse Memorial, Pink Farm Cemetery, Ikiz Cove, and to Tekke. Passing the Cape Helles Memorial, runners will arrive at Seddulbahir. After exiting the Seddulbahir Borough runners will pass The French Memorial, and arrive to the Turkish Memorial where they will cross the finish line. The range of slope for the Marathon course is between -15% and 8%. Along this course runners will observe over 15 historical spots the three regions, which are of great historically relevance to the Gallipoli Battles.

Water Stations

The watering stations will provide runners with water as well as chocolate, apples, and any drinks that the runners brought and turned in for themselves at the Marathon Expo.

Sponge Stations
Sponge stations will contain water and sponges.

First Aid
There will be a field hospital at the finish line and 10 ambulances on duty during the event.
