Travel to Çanakkale by Ferry
Çanakkale – Eceabat and Lapseki – Gallipoli Ferry Services

Visitors coming from Istanbul have 2 options for crossing from the Gallipoli Peninsula to Çanakkale. The first option is the ferry service run by GESTAŞ, which operates 24/7 between Eceabat and Çanakkale. The total time for crossing the Dardanelles is 25 minutes. Ferries to Çanakkale depart from the GESTAŞ ferry port in Eceabat. The ferry queue can be very long during the summer. If this is the case, a second option would be the Kilitbahir ferry service, with an average capacity for 30-40 cars. If the Eceabat Ferry queue is too long, we recommend driving to the village of Kilitbahir, which is 3 km from Eceabat, and taking one of the mid-size Kilitbahir - Çanakkale boats that also carry passenger cars to avoid waiting in the queue. Kilitbahir – Çanakkale boats take approximately 15 minutes to cross the Dardanelles. Kilitbahir – Çanakkale boats depart when the car section is full or every half an hour if it takes too long to fill in the car section.
